Comprehensive Gift-Giving Guide: Premium Skincare Gift Sets with the Best Values!

Hello! As Christmas is less than a day away, are you still putting it all in at the very last possible moment as far as holiday shopping?  Premium-brand skincare is quite an investment to make for anyone, and this comprehensive guide is for all the skincare savants in your friends and family you still haven't crossed off that list yet. If this person you're buying for is all about luxury skincare, this post will only showcase mid-tier brands, not luxury brands, per se. So if that is the case, you'd be better off looking elsewhere!

But if you're here for a value resource, no frets, I have you covered! All skincare sets I found are under $75, and I also took product size portions in each set as a factor, the ounces in the travel sizes compared to the full sizes, the variety of functionality of the products included, etc. Skincare is something that's inevitably used up fairly quickly, and let's be real, someone doesn't really know if they like a product or if it works for them in the long term if there's only enough in a mini travel size worth only about five uses, which equals about a week or two of use, right? I took that into account when doing my scouring through websites. By the way, this is not a sponsored post.

If you are wondering what to get, and what the best value skincare gift sets are from the top premium brands this holiday, stay tuned!

Dr. Jart+ Snow Time Like the Present, $39 sale (regular $46) available on sephora.com

If you have a fan of this highly praised Korean beauty brand's Premium BB Cream on your Christmas list, this set has a full size of it, and individually, the full size alone is priced at $39! That's nothing short of insane in the best possible way, when you know you're getting three other products for practically free! The only caveat with the BB Cream is that I found from reviews that in this set, it can only be delivered in the shade Light to Medium, so the Medium to Deep shade was excluded completely from this great deal. It would be nice if Sephora online customer service could provide some leverage as to exchanging the BB shades and customizing that upon the customer's request and skintone, however I've never tried that with online CS. I do see it as worth a try, though.

You also get three travel size products, including a 1 oz Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer (the full size of this is 3.3 oz for $36, so the portion you're getting is still about one-third the full size, which is pretty substantial), and you also get a 0.34 oz portion of the Ceramidin Cream (the full size of this is 1.6 oz for $48, so you're getting a one-fifth portion of the full size in this case), and a 1.7 oz (50 mL) portion of the Dermaclear Micro Water (the full size being 8.4 fl oz (250 mL) for $32, again, a one-fifth portion of the full size).

Origins Glow So Nice Set, $23, sephora.com and origins.com

Oh yes, everything in this Origin's Glow So Nice Set is either half an ounce or a full ounce of product, making this sampling well worth the awesome value price! Here's what you get (I will compare the sample sizes to the full sizes for price reference!):

1 fl oz (30 mL) of the GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser (full size is 5 fl oz, or 150 mL, so you're getting one-fifth portion exactly)
0.5. oz (15 mL) of the Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay (full size is 3.4 oz, or 100 mL, so you would be getting a little over one-seventh of the full size, which is indeed quite small)
0.5 oz (15 mL) of the Original Skin Renewal Serum with Willowherb (full sizes are optional: 1 oz for $40, or 1.7 oz for $54, so you're getting a hefty half-size, which is a great value! Serum takes a long time to use up anyway)
1 oz of the GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer (full size is 1.7 oz for $27.50, so you're getting a little less than one-third of the full size)

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Collection, $50, kiehls.com

While after calculations, this set wasn't the best value of the bunch, I must say that the variety and different functions of the products included, and being able to test out 5 products from this brand, all of which embody all of the steps (if not many of them, for some people), of the skincare process: cleansing, exfoliating. toning, and moisturizing, this set has all of that included, and that factor makes it more than worth it! Here's what's included:

0.5 oz of the Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque (full size is 2.5 oz for $32, so the product portion in the set is exactly one-fifth the full size, set value of the item being $6.40)
A smaller full size 1.7 oz of the Ultra Facial Cream (full sizes are optional, the smallest being 1.7 oz for $27.50, so that alone is more than half the value of this set!)
0.17 oz of the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate (full sizes, again, are optional, the smallest being 1.7 oz for $58, so this is a miniscule amount compared to that)
A smaller full size 2.5 oz bottle of the Ultra Facial Toner, which retails for $8 by itself
A smaller full size 2.5 oz Ultra Facial Cleanser, which retails for $10 by itself
The travel bag

So overall, with three full size products, this set rounds out to what the products would be worth in their corresponding sizes if they were sold separately. Very good value, nonetheless!

Fresh Mask Ritual Complexion Kit, $68, available on fresh.com

This is the most expensive option of the four sets I decided to feature in this post, and while none of these products in this Fresh Mask Ritual Complexion Kit are even close to being full size, the Fresh Black Tea product line contains some of their most expensive products, and since black tea ferment is such an advanced complex filled with antioxidants (and you're getting 1 ounce (30 mL) per jar in this set, compared to the full size 100 mL) you're still getting about one-third portion of the full size with each one, making this an incredible value, as the smaller sizes, upon calculation, still turn out to be worth around $95 in total
Here's what's included in the set:

A full size 50 mL Soy Face Cleanser (full size retails for $15 alone)
1 oz (30 mL) of the Rose Face Mask (full size is around 3.3 oz, or 100 mL, and is $62, so this smaller size is around a $20 value by itself)
1 oz (30 mL) of the Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask (full size is around 3.3 oz, or 100 mL, and is $92, so the smaller size is around a $30 value by itself)
1 oz (30 mL) of the Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask (full size is, again, around 3.3 oz, or 100 mL, and is $92, so this size is also a $30 value)

Well everyone, that concludes my comprehensive premium skincare gift set guide! I really hope this helps some of you out there in your decision making as to what to get that special person for the holidays! Skincare is important, and is worth the investment to a lot of people, yet it's always nice to find a good value! I hope this post showcased that, and saves you a bit of cash! Merry Christmas, everyone, and remember to collect memories more than things this holiday season, and in general! Memories are treasured permanent parts of our lives, and objects are only temporary. It's something I need to remind myself at times as well. 😃
