In my skincare discoveries, I have recently been converted from heavy creams to lightweight serums and the occasional skincare oil for nourishment and hydration. I find that these aforementioned options are much less pore-clogging for my skin, particularly. In all honesty, I went into purchasing the No7 Beautiful Skin Blemish Defense Serum, knowing that this serum's claims were promising me no more than a sans-frills pre-step for prepping the skin for moisturizer, with some peptides and Willow Bark Extract to calm any mild breakouts I was having, and block any more from making themselves come to the surface. I wasn't expecting an acne-clearing miracle, nor was I expecting adequate hydration from using the product alone.

I got exactly what I was expecting, and in short, I'm overall pleased.

My Skin Type

My skin is normal to dry at the moment, which is the perfect time for me to be using this product, but my skin turns Sahara dry and becomes textured and tends to get flaky in the winter months. If you have skin that is on the drier side than normal/dry, especially in the winter, this would be a product I would honestly skip altogether. Something with more intense hydration would be better suited for those seasonal skin types, myself included. I know I won't be using this in the winter, because....what's the point? :)

What this Product Claims

As read from packaging: This oil-free formulation helps to unblock pores and clear excess sebum to give smoother, blemish-free skin.

Does it Deliver?

For my intents and purposes for using this product, yes, it does meet my expectations for the time being. I use this as a base for my moisturizer nearly every day. I've noticed that breakouts have been at a standstill while I've been using this. and this serum has never caused inflammation of any pre-existing breakouts I've had. There is no scent that I can detect, and it's an all-encompassing very gentle (albeit very basic-performing) serum. It dispenses from a pump, which I've not found any issues with, and one full pump dispenses the perfect amount of product for one use.
No7 Beautiful Skin Blemish Defence Serum
I've never experienced a burning sensation with this product, and it sinks into the skin almost immediately. It's not at all greasy feeling, and the formula is very thin and the viscosity (or lack, thereof) is akin to being almost watery: if anything, it could offer just a smidge more hydration properties for me to give it a 10/10, so my overall rating will be an 7.5/10.

Price

This can be purchased at Ulta (where you can sometimes get a BOGO deal off certain brands; there's actually one going on right now for this brand), or Target for a moderately priced $17.99.

Bye for now, everyone! Stay positive and healthy, and have a great rest of your weekend!

💋 xoxo-Cailee
