Vibrant Violet | 'Mardi Gras' Inspired Makeup

Vibrant Violet 'Mardi Gras' Inspired Makeup

Good day, everyone!  This is the point where I'm trying to cram some summer tutorials/looks in at the tail-end of the season, before the fall season makes its presence official! The makeup look being featured in this post is a predominantly pink and violet-toned Mardi Gras inspired look that I just sort of winged, and while I'm not all that ecstatic about the end result of this first test run with it, I had a blast creating it! I am wanting to post a tutorial for this look on my YouTube channel, but first wanted to post it as a non-pictorial on my blog to get an idea if a video tutorial would be something you all would like to see!

I will still do a breakdown in this post of not just the products that were used, but of the placement as well. Yeah.... the lines and overall shape of the eye makeup are a tad bit sloppy and uneven, and my asymmetrical eyes don't really help the cause. 😊 Nonetheless, I decided I want to document as I learn the art, and I am still in the beginning stages, and in the end, it's only makeup, and it's supposed to be fun! Although I know I'll tweak some things with it if I do  make a tutorial.

 1) Primer: Wet 'n' Wild Fergie Take on the Day Eyeshadow Primer
2) Eyeshadow #1: Wet 'n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette in 'Thrift Store Chic' (shade used: bottom left matte raspberry pink was the only pink color in this look, blended into the crease and extended upward, and also shaped the inner corner and extended up into the browbone, as well as smudged into the outer third of the bottom lashline)
3) Base/Waterline: L'Oreal Colour Riche Eyeliner in 'White' applied as a base for wherever the shimmery white pigment would be placed, and also applied in the waterline (I tried to make the areas I put down this base to look more connected and fluid, but eh, it didn't work out as planned)
4) White Pigment: MAC Crushed Metallic Pigment in 'She's Got Class' (LE, but any shimmering silvered-white pigment will work perfectly) applied with an angled brow brush for precision, layered on top of the white liner in all areas except the waterline
5) Eyeshadow #2: L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in 'With a Twist' (LE, but the color is very dupeable and can be found within almost any brand, and is very much like MAC Stars 'n Rockets e/s) was applied with fingers and packed onto the mobile lid, being careful not to overlap it with the white pigment on the inner portion, and was also applied with an angled liner brush on the bottom lashline as a sort of outline beneath the white pigment in the inner half of that area
6) L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara coats top and bottom lashes

Blush & Contour

1) Blush: a vibrant grape-purple blush from my Coastal Scents Blush Too Palette, applied very sparingly and extended into the backs of the cheeks
2) Contour: TheBalm Bahama Mama

Lips

1) Lip Color: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in 'Berry Haute'
2) L'Oreal Le Gloss in 'The Mystic's Shine' topping off the lipstick, dabbed in the center of the upper and lower lip

Yep, this look was a bit 'out there' for me, so let me know if you would like to see a tutorial! Have an awesome day, everyone!
